On the 23rd of February 1944, the deportation of the Chechen and Ingush peoples was one of the darkest and most tragic events in the history of the Vainakh people, claiming the lives of thousands of our compatriots and leaving the Chechen and Ingush peoples without their homeland and their roots. Every Vainakh knows this mournful date.

History recorded this day as a massive genocide against our people. We must not forget those who perished in those terrible days and became victims of this treacherous crime.

In honor of this tragic date, this year the “Daimokhkhan Kherch” Association took the initiative into their own hands and proposed to build a well in Chad (Africa) in memory of the victims of deportation.
