The rainy season is approaching in Africa. Therefore, from 20th June 2018, Salsabil will halt all well constructions in Africa for 3 to 4 months.

All the orders placed before 20th June will be implemented on time, whereas the construction of the requests accepted afterwards will be carried out after the rainy season, in September 2018.

Why shouldn’t we build wells during the rainy season?

The first reason is the groundwater pollution. Consuming water from a well that was built during a rainy season may spread infectious diseases, illnesses and death.

The second reason is the rise of the groundwater. If a well is built during this season, there is a risk that, once the rains are gone, the well might simply dry out as the water will have gone deeper.

The third and main reason is the difficulty for the workers to move around. The roads are blurred, there are floods, and settlements often get flooded.

To give you an example, we have filmed this video during the rainy season in Niger.
